![]() The Salomon S/Max 110 W and Salomon S/Pro 100 W models are particularly suitable for sporty and performance-oriented female drivers. The Salomon S/Pro 130, Salomon S/Max 130 and Salomon S/Max 120 models, which with their stiff to very stiff shell are primarily designed for optimum power transmission and precision, are aimed at sporty to very sporty drivers. Basically, the S/Pro shoes are more suitable for riders with medium to wide feet, while the S/Max shoes are more suitable for riders with narrow feet. In order for everyone to enjoy this feeling as much as possible, the S/Series shoes are available in a whole range of variants. Salomon's S/Series boots offer the perfect solution for skiers looking for performance without sacrificing comfort, helping to ensure that the next blast moment will not be long in coming. The easy and quick adaptability puts the crown on the whole. The seamless liner also contributes to power transmission and comfort. In combination with the Sense Amplifier technology, it ensures a progressive and precise turn initiation, a faster edge change and acceleration at the end of the turn. In order to improve power transmission, Salomon has come up with a completely new design for the new Salomon S/Max and S/Pro series: The core of the shoe has a thinner housing with a built-in frame reinforcement, the so-called core frame, which not only makes it lighter, more agile and more sensitive, but also provides an improved ground feel and optimized power transmission to the edges. The result: the series Salomon S/Max and Salomon S/Pro But that's not enough for the Salomon team and that's why they came up with something for the boots to make the blast-feeling even better on the slopes. The X-Pro and X-Max ski boot series were among the most powerful and best fitting ski boots of recent years. ![]() The weight of the shoe also plays a role, because the heavier the equipment, the faster tiredness sets in.Īctually, Salomon had already solved these requirements quite well before. But of course a ski boot shouldn't sit too tight either, because if you have pain while skiing, you are unlikely to enjoy the described feeling of enthusiasm, but rather suffer intense frustration. The more compact the boot is and the better it is constructed, the better the control of the skis is. There are a number of reasons for this: The ski boot transfers the power from the body to the ski. However, as everyone knows, even the best skis are useless without the right boots. The challenge: Combine power transmission, fit, lightness To make this feeling available to skiers of all classes, from beginners to experienced skiers, Salomon launched the S-Race and S-Max ski series last year. What is it that attracts us to the slopes every year? For the French ski boot and ski manufacturer Salomon, the answer is clear: it's the simple but thrilling adrenaline rush that comes when we start our first turn on groomed slopes, the acceleration, the inclination and power when riding on the edge, the flow from one turn to the next and the risk and speed involved.

Here’s a compilation of the very very awesome Lorelei scenes, which are by far the best ones in the film, though I might possibly be slightly biased:Īs you can see, I had no choice but to email Marta. ![]() Lorelei was played by the gorgeous and hilarious Marta Kristen, who would go on to star in Lost in Space and appear in a ton of other television series and commercials and films. The best part of Beach Blanket Bingo, though, is at the very end (this is a spoiler but honestly it’s not really the kind of movie that keeps you on the edge of your seat), when Annette turns to Frankie and asks, “Was there really a mermaid?” Frankie looks at her and answers smoothly: “Is there a moon? Is there a sky? Are there dreams?” We cut to the ocean, and a mermaid’s tail flips out of it, and then the word “FIN-EE” appears on the screen. Lorelei gets some temporary legs for her earthbound beau and they have a lovely romance… until Lorelei has to return to the water and her own kind, which is tragic but finally okay because it leaves Bonehead free to romance Linda Evans of later Dynasty fame and that is clearly the better choice financially. “I’ll be the only boy in my block that knows a real live mermaid!” Bonehead exclaims, when he discovers that Lorelei’s not quite a normal girl. Next to the sidechain button, you can select the headphone & EQ button. The calculator works with any frame rate and can be used for Super 8,16mm, 35mm, 35mm 3-perf, and 65 mm film. ![]() This will allow you to sculpt your sidechain input before it goes into the compression phase of the process. The headphone button allows you to listen to the EQ’d/filtered signal that is going into the compressor. You can choose from a number of filters, but the most likely one you’ll use when sidechaining the Bass to the Kick, is the low pass filter, or the low shelf. Using this you can remove some of the Bass from your sidechain input signal, which can be useful when you don’t want the sidechain compression to overload, and last too long. Specifically Bass can be a tricky frequency, and due to its loudness, it can cause the compression to squash your signal longer than it needs to be. If you filter out your lower-end bass, up to 100-200Hz, this leaves the body of the Kick and gives a more clean, precise sidechain compression. Sometimes you may want this longer, heavy effect that’s not as precise. Especially in EDM when you want the sidechain to be heavy, it’s useful to leave much of the low end in, so you can get that long pump effect you want. ![]() Some tutorials online say that the EQ can affect where the frequency range of your sidechain is ducked, however, this isn’t true. ![]() The compression will duck the entire signal no matter what. Filtering just gives you a slightly altered input that may change the speed and precision of your sidechain compression. If you want to duck a certain frequency range, you can add multiband sidechain compression, which we’ll explain further down (really useful for sub heavy sidechain Bass compression). Next, you’ll want to start changing the threshold, attack & release settings on your compressor.įirst, change the threshold of your compressor. The threshold will set the db level at which your compressor will begin to react. Without a threshold level, you won’t hear any compression, so you need to set this first.ĭepending on your signal, you might have different settings here. Nothing in any recent war game came anywhere near to the shocking, revelatory and humbling D-Day beach landing on MoH:AA or the courageous, subtly heroic bridge defence in the original Call of Duty. I rather longed for the old days, when Medal of Honour: Allied Assault and the original PC Call of Duties were about the fighting and the soldiers rather than Hollywood blockbusterising. The black and white, casual killing of the aerial targeting sequence wasn’t satirising the clinical bloodthirstiness of real world tech that had transformed the Iraq war into a perceived computer game by its invading combatants it was just a bloodthirsty sequence that thought it was cool.Īs the series continued to embrace linear, scripted movie sequences (and as its supposed competitors, such as Battlefield 3, copied it shamelessly and impotently) I rapidly lost interest in the entire war genre. With each sequel it became increasingly evident that much of my praise for the game’s narrative had been me projecting. I thought it was a hugely entertaining blockbuster romp with a few gut-wrenching, daring narrative moves that showed the futility of war (the nuke) and even a neat line in dark satire (the aerial targeting sequence).
